We are excited to have Jason Bowman back as a Guest Teacher at Ratna Ling!

A long weekend in Northern California.

Morning and evening meditation, daily yoga class, evening book group discussion, three unfathomable meals a day, and a bunch of time to read/write/hike/lounge/go to the beach/chat/explore… all on a wooded hillside just above the Pacific Ocean.

There will be a few short readings beforehand: Fable by Charles Yu, Switzerland by Nicole Krauss, and The Crane Wife by CJ Hauser. We’ll use the stories as a launching pad for evening discussion about the intersection of yoga, art, and life.

Also feel free to come with anything you’re working on: a short story, personal essay, journal, letter, novel, screenplay, poem, etc—there’s communal and private space to work. The surrounding area also has very nice beaches and hiking, should that suit. The center itself has a palatial meditation hall that can be used freely. Also, fantastic accommodations. We’ll talk, and not talk, and be together, and also on our own.

Accommodations:

Each cottage has two queen beds, which are located in separate bedrooms. The cottages are large and have high ceilings, with a living room, kitchen and full bathroom. The whole center is luxurious and comfortable.

Fee:

$1300 per person

This includes accommodations, meals, yoga, taxes… everything except massages, which are optional and can be booked with the hosts.

If you’re signing up with a friend or partner, please indicate in the registration notes so we get you in the same cottage. For single guests who want a private cottage, there’s a separate fee. Please inquire at reservations@ratnaling.org.

Weekend retreat at Ratna Ling
My experience at Ratna Ling Retreat Center was magical and life changing.

From the moment I arrived onto the grounds, through the beautiful gated entrance, I felt a sense of peace and comfort.

Check in was done kindly, and effortlessly. Walking into our cabin (my two daughters and I), and noting the clean pristine environment, was much appreciated. It was very comfortable, and had everything we needed.

Meditations, with George leading, were easy to follow and helpful. His orientation, as well as his company during meals, was delightful.

The Tibetan movement class was relaxing, as well as invigorating.

The meals were delicious, healthy, and plentiful.

The staff were joyful and helpful.

The weekend was truly beautiful and special, and will be remembered always.

Thank you all for creating a perfect environment. I loved my time there and brought back lessons I have implemented into my daily life.
