About this Retreat
Swami Sitaramananda is a senior acharya of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers and is director of the Sivananda Ashram Vedanta Yoga Farm, California and the Sivananda Yoga Resort and Training Center, Vietnam. She is acharya of China, Taiwan, and Japan as well. Swamiji is the organizer and teacher of the Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training (SYHET) program, an 800-hour program on yoga therapy, accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
Swami Sitaramananda is the author of “Essentials of Yoga Practice and Philosophy” (translated in Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Russian), “Positive Thinking Manual”, “Karma Yoga Manual”, “Meditation Manual”, “Swamiji Said, a collection of teachings by Swami Vishnu” in His Own Words. She is responsible for the Vietnamese translation of “Completed Illustrated Book of Yoga” (CIBY) and “Meditation & Mantras” by Swami Vishnu. Many of her video & audio lectures on Yoga life, philosophy, and psychology as well as articles and webinars can be found on this website.
Swami Sita is an ardent supporter of the integration of the Vedic sciences such as Vastu, Jyotish, Ayurveda, Yoga and Vedanta. She is an international teacher of the Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Courses and Advanced Yoga teachers’ Training courses, as well as Meditation and Vedanta & Silence Courses both in Sivananda Ashrams in Vietnam and in Grass Valley, CA.

Description
The Stress Management Teacher Training Course empowers Yoga teachers with the skills and techniques to educate and support their students to better manage there stress and live a more balanced daily life. Working in alliance with the body, breath and mind, one can learn to not only effectively reduce stress, one can actually achieve a deep sense of peace and well-being while facing challenges. This course is based on the time-tested, classical, Yoga practices that are proven to be highly effective and easy to learn, regardless of a person’s experience in Yoga. Come join us for this special training to learn practical Yoga techniques to reduce stress and build stress resilience for the long term.
Topics Covered
The physiology of the stress response is illustrated and discussed. A basic understanding of the nervous system is presented, identifying sympathetic and parasympathetic response. The psychology of the "fight/flight/freeze" response is explained. Participants are encouraged to share personal experiences to help facilitate understanding of the stress response and the many ways that it presents itself in daily life.
Presentations on the benefits of Asana, Pranayama, Savasana, and Diet provide a comprehensive understanding of Yoga techniques to manage stress in a systematic way.
Some of the emotional benefits of Yoga Meditation include gaining new perspective on stressful situations, cultivating new skills to manage stress, increased awareness of the mind’s tendencies, improved concentration (being present), and the reduction/regulation of negative emotions.
